Our Story
Decatur Garden Center was established in 2006, but its roots go back much further. Paige, owner, discovered her love for plants in high school while working at a local garden center as part of her co-op job. She continued there for nearly 10 years after graduation, learning the trade and growing her passion for gardening before stepping away to focus on family.
Years later, the owner of Renahaw’s Greenhouse — where Paige first got her start — decided it was time to retire. Wanting to keep the tradition of serving the community alive, Paige and her husband, James, saw an opportunity. With land of their own, they transformed a hay pasture into what is now Decatur Garden Center, built from the ground up in 2006.
Our motto has always been simple: to grow healthy plants that thrive in their environment and to serve our community with beautiful flowers, trees, shrubs, and more.
We’re proud to be home owned and home grown — sharing our love of gardening with Decatur and the surrounding community for two decades.
Doing Our Part for a Greener Decatur
This 80,000-gallon tank was built to capture and store rainwater, which we reuse for irrigation throughout the nursery. It’s one more way we’re working to conserve water and care for our environment.
We’re committed to keeping Decatur green! Decatur Garden Center recycles cardboard and plastic nursery pots. Bring your used plastic pots and empty pallets back to our recycling bin on the west side of the parking lot and recycle with us.
